The Universe Influences

ThinkstockPhotos-177794827Mind body connection

There are many books on the market that talk about the mind and body connection or the mind and life connection. Books such as the Secret and authors such as Louise Hay have used and shared this mind- life, mind- body understanding. Hypnotherapy is a practice that centres on those connections and uses them for the benefit of the client’s health and well-being. The connection between mind and body and mind and life is very well understood by health and well-being professionals.

We also have a connection to the Universe. We are the Universe. We are not separate from the Universe. Every moment of every day we have a profound connection to the totality of the Universe. If you consider yourself separate from the Universe please answer this. Where did you come from? What made you? What are you made from?

You are energy

You are energy through and through. You are made of the stuff of the universal stars. You are no different to them. You have your place amongst them. They are energy and so too are you. The Universe came into being a long time ago and we can say it has a life of its own. It too lives and breathes as you do. Stars come and they go. The Universe experiments with energy on many levels, life forms come and go depending on how successful they are within the universal experiment. You are made of the stuff of the stars. The universe created you to live and breathe. It created you to live a life. Life can be challenging. Many things both good and bad happen within a life. People cross each other’s paths, sometimes those meetings and crossing are good and happy ones with fulfilling outcomes. Other times they are not so. If they are considered good or bad it will depend on the view points and agendas of those doing the analysis. Each person has free will and choice. Each person has a mind of their own. Each person has thought patterns and processes. These thought patterns and processes are unique to the individual. The individual ultimately gets to choose how they think. Their thought processes help them to make sense of the world and understand it to a degree.

Your life influence

It is not commonly understood by the general public that there is a mind connection with life itself. We think from the point of view that thinking and action will bring about a result.  It is true that thinking, decision and action will do that.  Results will be gained efficiently by using thinking decision and action and should not be underestimated as it plays an important role in taking the individual forward in a chosen direction. However what is not as easily understood by people in general is that they have another field of influence upon life. This is an energetic one. We can bring situations or people in our direction by our energetic connection to life and the Universe on all levels.

The Universe thinks and heals itself

The Universe is a thing. It lives, breaths and thinks. It has consciousness throughout. Human beings are also energy with consciousness. We too are energy that thinks. It is like two heart beats, the universal heart beat and the human heart beat. They can beat in synchronisation or out of synchronisation. So we can be conscious and energetically in tune with the Universe or out of tune with the Universe.

We all have influence on our lives, the lives of others and our thoughts and decisions through physical interaction, conscious thought and energy interaction and manipulation. There is an energy that permeates the Universe that influences everything. It is the catalyst that fires the Universe on all and every level. This energy is called Universal energy. It is known by many names and every culture has a name for it. It’s made up physically of a combination of electricity and magnetism. It is electromagnetic energy. It permeates all life on all levels. It is a carrier or information. It carries thoughts, ideas and beliefs around and throughout the Universe. It is a universal telegraph wire. It carries information everywhere. This background energy is known to science and they are calling it “The field”. Esoteric people and healers have called it Universal energy, Chi, Ki, Psychic, and Pranic energy amongst other names. It has been known to man for many thousands of years and the Chinese have understood its healing properties and how to exploit them for five thousand years.

Transferring Universal information

Everything you think and feel is carried into the world as energy. It is carried around the earth and out into the Universe on the back of Universal energy. Your thoughts are transferred through Universal energy to all parts of the Universe. We have all heard of the Aboriginal people of Australia and the fact that they have telepathic abilities. If what I have said holds water and it does, then this is a perfect explanation to those abilities.

You have both connection to and influence upon the Universe. You are part of the Universe and a part that makes up the totality of the Universe. Your thoughts and actions and deeds add to or take away from the Universe. You are important to the Universe. There is a responsibility to the Universe by you to it. Whether you consciously acknowledge that responsibility or not is your free will and choice.

Your Universal life

The Universe acknowledges you and the life it gave you. It will interact with you on many levels. It gave your life to you and in time it will take that life back. How you live that life is your free will and choice. If you interact with the Universe consciously, this is too your free will and choice. It is for you to understand that the choice is yours and you can exercise it at will. The Universe will respond to your thoughts and actions. Not with fire and lightening but with situations, people and circumstance to your ultimate benefit.

Benefit comes in many textures. Some rough and some smooth. What you may feel benefits you may not be the same thought and understanding to the Universe. However, it is not the point of living to give you a hard time to punish you. We are strengthened by being stretched. We always have the Universe’s ear when things are unbearable to us. Speaking your truth, thoughts, wants, needs and desires to the Universe is not seen as selfish but a necessary part of your right and growth. The Universe hears you. A word of caution here: please be careful of what you ask for. Harmful thoughts, deeds, and desires always have repercussions. We are all human and sometimes each of us may fall a little short. This is part of our learning and growth. To set our own boundaries of good and right is a good thing. To understand that our desires affect others is a good thing. To abuse our position in the world is a bad thing. Harm to others deliberately done is not acceptable to the Universe and should not be acceptable to you. Fairness and love is a good starting point in any situation. Selfishness, harshness and greed will not be seen well. You may have selfish and harmful desires in the short term as they may be part of your growth and growth to others. What feels bad to us we seldom engage in twice by choice. Basically what I am saying is this: we grow by experience and sometimes we do not get things correct. No one is perfect, we are perfecting ourselves daily. It also must be said that others feel our energy and thoughts by way of energy and if they feel bad, we will be seen in that light by those who engage with us.

Interacting with the Universe

We can ask the Universe for direct and positive input into our lives, health, and living situations. The Universe responds to those requests. We interact with the Universe every moment of the day and do so largely without conscious thought on the matter. If we give our interaction conscious thought and conscious interaction we have more of an influence upon outcomes.

We think things into being on either an energetic level or a physical level. For anything to come into being it must be preceded by a thought first. When I learnt how to design many decades ago one of the things that were drilled into me by the design process is the fact that change happens by my conscious thought. An idea comes into being by thought first then execution second. Along the way in the execution process the idea can be changed manipulated and honed. It is the same with the manipulation of energy. We have a thought or an idea and that is then communicated to the Universe and then the Universe responds by moving energy to bring it into being.

Whatever you want or wish for and even if it seems impossible; tell the Universe what it is. Ask the Universe to move situations in your direction to bring about the change that you desire. For your life to go in a certain direction you have to bring about the physical change or you have to ask the universe to do it for you. What the Universe will do will show you how to make the change by bringing people, ideas, or situations in your direction. Sometimes and more often than would be supposed it will just drop things in your lap. You can ask for many things from the Universe and material things are amongst those that can be asked for. They will not always be granted but if you don’t ask you probably will not get it unless you physically do it for yourself. The Universe makes the path to what you want and need easier and smoother for you.

Steering your life

You have a life that you can steer in this direction or that, according to your own desires. The Universe has a role in that life as it gave it to you. You are part of the Universe and it has a vested interest in you and your life. Day by day you live and grow and the Universe helps you to do that. It supplies the ingredients for life.

So what are your desires and wishes? Whatever they are as you think them whisper them to the universal forces and ask those forces for a direction toward them. The Universe points the way forward.

The Soul and the Spirit

496038383:a spiritual journey

I read something said about Reiki recently. I read, “Reiki is said to be a spiritual practice. However it is more than that”.

That statement implies the description of “spiritual practice” does not express what Reiki is. It implies the idea of being a spiritual practice is in some way insignificant to other considerations of what that person thinks Reiki is. What they are basically saying I think, is that if we describe Reiki as a spiritual practice it does not tell us the true worth and ability of it.

Being a spiritual practice, is the very highest of what Reiki is. It does not make Reiki less in any way. We have to take a look at the word “Spiritual” and determine what that is. Recently someone said to me that they consider themselves to be Spiritual and not religious and I asked them, what is the difference? The person could not give me an answer because they had not thought about it thoroughly enough. It was a clever and fashionable statement but did not have substance for that person. They did not have an answer to my question.

To consider the word spiritual we perhaps to look at the word religious also and look at them side by side.

Let’s start with the word religion. I feel that many people today have a negative view of religion and use the idea of spirituality in its place so as not to be associated with any particular religion but showing some reverence to something greater. Maybe religious history is partly to blame. This negative view maybe in part due to all of that fighting back stabbing, killing, abuse and downright dishonestly that many religions have engaged in over time, that have caused so many of us to just not wish to even hear the word religion spoken. It could be said that which is meant to nurture the human soul and spirit have thrown dirty water on the task. So it is not surprising that many are left feeling cold at the very thought of the word religion. Religions main task is to throw light on the path to God; instead it too can be bogged down with earthly experience. Difficult indeed to heave one foot on the earth and on in heaven.

Now what do we mean by spiritual? To consider the word spiritual we first have to understand the word “Sprit.”  What is spirit? Often the word soul and spirit are used interchangeably to mean the same thing. They do not mean the same thing. Many people if not most people think of their body as who they are. “I am my body.” “My body must be beautiful because if my body is perfect and beautiful people will perceive a beautiful me.” Are we a sum total of our body or are we more than our body? The body becomes a mess in time because it ages, and so are we now not beautiful because our body may not be so?

To find the real beauty of a person you must look deeper. It is located inside of the person that is where the beauty lay. The beauty lay in their thoughts, ideas, actions, and personality. Those things allow the person to have interaction with the world on a deeper level. What are we to call those bits of the person as a collective expression? Are those things part of the mind or are they more than just mental thinking capacity of the person? The mind is a tool by which we make sense of information on an intellectual level. We analyse the world and life with the mind. We say we think thoughts and they happen in the brain which is the mind. The soul is not the mind it does not analyse at all it just is. We will come back to all of these words and ideas latter. So that leaves the word sprit and if spirit is not the soul what is it?

Let’s recap.

We have so far spoken about spiritual practice, we started with that and also religion and the differences in those two things. We have also spoken about the difference in the soul and the spirit. We further touched on the body and what is that and our ideas of the body and who we are. What a muddled mine field it all is. Please let me give you my take on this it may help you to make some sense of it all.

The mindThinkstockPhotos-511136335

That defiantly is where the analytical processes of the person take place. We all think our thoughts in the brain. All information about our external life will be filtered by this part of us through the  senses. We make sense of what is around us via the senses and the brain. We analyse that information with the brain and then that information is stored somewhere in us. We think about what is coming at us via life and our senses and then store that information. We do not think consciously about every bit of information that comes at us form moment to moment as there is just too much of it for the brain to cope with. It thinks about some of it and analyses that which is new or different or previously unknown and unfamiliar. A lot of information that comes in our direction does not need the brain to analyse it as it is very familiar and  not consequential or threatening or different. It has been already stored and understood.

The Physical body

This needs little explanation, however it is not who we are. The body is not the person. ThinkstockPhotos-461277209The body houses the person and the person lays somewhere inside the body. I am not my body, but my body is the home that I inhabit. It allows me to move and live within the human experience on the earth. It is flesh and bone and it is easily damaged if I am not careful with it. I can work on my body to enhance its look and health. I need my body to live the human experience on the earth.

The soul

This part of the person is the person. The soul is who I am. I am my soul. The soul is my personality, it is my essence. I know that some of the person’s personality is governed by part of the brain. However the person is more than their brain functioning. They feel and when they feel they do not do so with their brain. It is at another part of their body that they go to for their feelings. It will be with their gut and the heart that they feel. Feelings painful and joyful go to these two places. This is where the person or the soul resides. The person resides in the gut mostly and in the heart also. The soul is the part of you that changes and develops over time. You are not the same person that you were ten years ago or even five years ago. In that time span you have had many experiences and those experiences good or bad happy or sad difficult or easy have moulded you into the human being you are today. It has given you your take on life. It has shaped your understanding of the world and what it can be to you and others. I am a therapist and very often it is this part of a person that is in the most distress when they come to me for help. I have to repair their soul, before the body will heal. Very often it is a case of sort the soul out and the body will sort itself out. This part of the person connects to all life on all levels and so it gets the biggest distress sometimes as it negotiates life.

The spirit

Now what is the spirit? If the brain governs the analytical process of the person and the soul is the person, what is the spirit?

The spirit does not do the same as the soul. It does not feel at all. It is dispassionate. The spirit of the person stands back and watches. The spirit part of the person is the observer. What does it observe? It observes you the person. It observes how you negotiate life. It takes note of everything and records everything about you and what you do. It is like a note book or a USB stick recording as you go. There is nothing that you ever do that you truly forget. It is all housed somewhere and this is where it is housed. We think that our memories come from our brain. In part they may, however it is in the spirit that everything about  you is stored. The spirit is like a filling cabinet and the brain retrieves the files from the cabinet. The spirit half of the soul records. The soul and the spirit of the person sit side by side within the person.

The spirit of the person is the part of the person that is pure energy. It is the part of your being that comes directly from the source of life itself. It is the part of you that on your demise will go back to the source of life. The spirit does not interact with life as the soul does. The soul is the messy part of you feeling everything and reacting to it all. The spirit just takes note of how the soul handles life. It is dispassionate.

These two jobs need to be separated. The soul very often is a mess feeling and reacting to everything that comes its way. There needs to be a part of you that stands back and is dispassionate to keep record of how you got in the mess in the first place. Your history needs to be housed somewhere. It is in the spirt that your history is housed. When you are done with life on the earth and the human experience your spirit hands over the spirit USB stick, if you will, to the source of life and your whole life is recorded in the universe for the source of life to use as information on life. Nothing is lost from the universe life takes note of everything and it is continually adapting to information. We know that life changes from generation to generation and there is development of all species that takes place within life. The universe keeps all information safe and uses it for the development of the universe and life. The spirit goes back to the universe or God. The spirit goes back to the source of all life and hands over its information to the source of life.

Oneness

ThinkstockPhotos-177794827In every mystical or religious path we are told we need to recognise our oneness with God. What is that for heaven’s sake? Oneness with God! Many people don’t recognise God and so go into great debate about that. God is a word used to describe the source of all life. God is all powerful and the ultimate force of nature. It is the thing that brought all life and the universe into being. It is the universe. That force is given a human face by Christianity and in other religious paths it is given other faces, as an energy force, gods, or a god of some kind. All paths put that force above everything else and say all sprang from that force.

Now there is a clue in those words “All sprang form that great force”.

So if all sprang from this great force which some call God, that means you and I did and all things did. Mystical and religious paths say all is one and has oneness. All come from one to make many.

We can use the word “spirit” to mean essence of a thing. We are all from the main essence. We could say that the spirit and the main essence being one and the same. So the spirit can be said to be that bit of you and me and all things that came from the great source of life. It is the “God spark”. It is the bit of you and me and all things that come from the main ingredient of life. We can think of God in many ways but its essence is the source of all things. So now we can see the difference between the words soul and spirit. This is why these four words, the mind, the body, the soul and the spirit  are so important to us. They describe very different aspects of the human living condition that are of great importance to the human living experience.

Spirituality

So now what of spirituality and a spiritual path? Well spirituality is the path that nourishes both the soul and the spirit. How can we do that? How is that done if it is done at all? If it is done will be dependent on what the person has decided for themselves. Do I ignore the whole idea of the spiritual and just exist?

Do I live the earthly life to the full and experience all that has to offer to the exclusion of nurturing the spirit? In that experience I feed the soul aheavy diet.dv787002 I may well enjoy my self for many years but at the end of it some thing may well suffer.

Do I balance my experience by nurturing both soul and spirit? Walk a religious path alongside the earthly experience. So I can have an affair or two, drink loads of alcohol, take substances that are not good for me perhaps, travel the world and have a great time, then think about the spirit from time to time as is needed. I might think about it at my religious holidays and festivals, and at whatever ways and times that connects me to the “God source.”

Do I immerse myself in the spiritual path and just live my life exclusively nurturing my God spark, feeding the spirit with the best that living can give it? Do I then pass those learnings onto others and illuminate their path to the best spiritual nurturing they can have?

Do I sit back and analyse it all using my brain to assess the validity or futility of all of these paths?

As you can see there are many paths and each path has its own merit. No path is better or worse than the other. Each path has its merits as each path will bring something positive to the person. Each path brings experience through the living experience to the person. All paths are a road back home to the ultimate force. We all return to dust or at least our body does and our soul and spirit go home. The ultimate power of the universe, that which some call God wants back that which it gave us, that piece of itself called the spirit. A spiritual path is one that nurtures that part of us. God is the ultimate energy force that houses the best in us or the light side of us. Not the dark side of the human nature. If we follow a spiritual path we wish to enhance the best side of us. That bit that is nearest to the universal perfection that we have.

Life itself is the ultimate spiritual journey. Life takes us from the universal source of life and then sends us back to it. We are on a journey of return from the moment we are born. We are thrust into life and we are given people who are our parents and wider family and we accept that situation and get on with what comes our way from that experience. We then are trust even more into the living experience and made to learn many things and are schooled by our social systems in one way or another. We start our development of the soul from the moment we are born. The situation to which we are born into starts that development for us. We are on our spiritual journey. We are working our way back home already. To be on spiritual journey you do not have to be religious or non-religious you just have to be living. Living is the ultimate spiritual journey. It is the return home for all of us with a lot of hassles and joys thrown in to make it interesting and stretching.

A spiritual journey is not about being good or bad. It is not about being the light or dark it is about a return home. How we choose to return home and with what kind of information on our spirit USB stick is our choice. The source of life gets to look it over and it will be happy or sad at the information stored on that spirt USB. The source of life needs you to experience life and no two lives are ever the same. We are all different people having our own personal human experience. There are rules to life, for life would be chaos without rules, and so the source gives some rules for us to follow. However, if we choose to follow those rules or not is up to us as above all we must experience. At the end of life we get to make our case for the life we lived. We are all on a journey of the spirt no matter what. The path we take and if we take a spiritual path on that journey is up to us. Free will and choice is at the heart of the universal desire for you. You get to choose many things each and every day.

Religion

Religion sheds light on the way back home. It highlights the rules to that return, or at least that is what it is supposed to do. It is there to remind us that there is a home and we are not here forever just a time and then we return home. The universe is home and the universe is what we return to. All religions give their personal explanation on how the universe is organised. It does not matter what religion you choose or if you choose none at all. You will return home one day and you will have lived a life long or short good or bad. You will return home with experience and development of your soul.

Religion or no religion a spiritual path or not is up to you and always should be your choice. So what bit of you do you most wish to nourish? Is it the soul, the spirit, the mind, or the body? We all get to choose our focus.

Reiki

Reiki treatmentNow let us finally go back to the very beginning of this blog and discuss Reiki. We have now come full circle. A spiritual path nurtures the spirit and spirituality is the practice of nurturing the spirit and  the soul. Living itself could be said to be the ultimate spiritual journey as it nourishes both the soul and the spirit to some capacity. Reiki is a spiritual practice and so it nurtures the spirit of the person. It enhances the practitioner’s spirit, because they connect to the source of the spirit. That is where the energy of life comes from and it is that energy that the practitioner connects too. It is that energy that the person both the practitioner and the patient or client engages with. That energy feeds the person on all levels. It feeds the body, the soul, the mind, the emotions and the spirit of the person. It enhances the person on all levels of their being. That is why it is a spiritual practice and that is why it is the very best it can be, and to be a spiritual practice does not make it less than but more than. Reiki is very effective and this is its effectiveness. Reiki connects to the source of life and it connects the person to that source, both practitioner and patient also. Reiki draws energy from that source.

We all get to choose both our focus and our path in life. We all get to choose many things each day. We get to choose if we bother to think about things and analyse things or not. All aspects of the person are important as is the method of feeding and nourishing each aspect that we choose. Each choice is a road ahead and a way forward, a method of engaging with life itself. Each choice we make is an opportunity to enhance the many aspects of ourselves.

What will you choose today? You have at the heart of your being free will and choice to do as you please.

Heart Energy

ThinkstockPhotos-82663378Love Energy

In the previous blog David Brown talked about the heart and its condition in relation to compassion and love. He explained how we can make sure we keep our own heart in good order. He talked about our feelings and emotions and the link they have with the heart.  He felt compelled to discuss this in the light of the recent killings in Paris. We talk in terms of being “stone hearted” or “broken hearted” and “cold hearted” in relation to emotions. This is because we store our emotions in the heart. The heart keeps our blood pumping around our body but it has a much more important job to do than that.

Universal Energy force of nature

The focus of the discussion that David and I are having with our readership is one of energy and the importance of it to the mind, body, emotions and spiritual aspect of the person. We have tried to illustrate the fact that universal energy is impact on all levels of your being and life. No more so than the emotional and spiritual aspect of the person.

We have said in many blogs that we take universal energy into our body and this energy feeds all aspects of our person and being. This may seem confusing, ridiculous, inconsequential or just plain not important to you. This single truth is of immense importance to your life and being. This subtle energy of which I speak, which you can just ignore if you so choose, will do many things for your being and life condition. To understand this fact and to act on it means that you have control over many aspects of your life, health and future.

A gift from the Universe

On a physical level this energy is electricity and magnetism but on a spiritual level it is the breath of life itself and a gift from the universe. It feeds your body, your life and being on all levels. David talked in his blog about taking this energy into your heart. I understand that for some people reading this, what he is saying to you may escape you.

In the wake of the Paris atrocities that blog and its message may well seem trivial. There is nothing trivial about that message, it is far more profound a message than it may seem at first glance. We are taught to see ourselves as separate one from the other by society and religion. We are separated on so many grounds. We separate on ideas; ideals, religion, politics, country of origin; ethnicity and skin colour are some of the factors that are used.

No Separation

In truth there is no separation between any of us. We are one people, the human people of the human family. That is our connection one to the other. We are one race, the human race. We have one home, the earth. This should be obvious to each of us but it is not so for most of us. Look around at the state we are all in at this point in time. So much hate, anger and killing on the grounds of things that seem important yet are inconsequential when looked at that through the lens of what truly connects us. Religion is not important unless you make it so. How we treat each other is important no matter what we may say or do. How we treat each other as part of the human family is of paramount importance. We have all been thrown into life for a time to live, love and grow. How we live, love and grow is important for at the heart of that importance is compassion for each other. Without human feeling and connection there can be no compassion.

Compassion starts with empathy

Compassion starts in the hearts of men. It is through empathy and seeing the other person as part of you that we have compassion. Seeing the humanity in the other person does not start and end in the intellect but it is more about a feeling in the heart of mankind.  When we connect heart to heart what do religion or ideas matter? We are connected by a greater force than any of those. We are connected through the energy of the heart.

If we feel others as part of ourselves and love them as ourselves we cannot harm them for we harm ourselves.

It is when we see others as different or less than ourselves that we can do harm. To separate the other person is to separate a part of ourselves. This is what “being spiritual” means. This is what spiritual connection is. It is a connection one to the other through the heart of you.

Heart connection is a wisdom and truth

Ideas and teachings come and go. There are some things that are universally valid and therefore unchanging.  Humanity’s connection through the heart is one such wisdom. It is a constant of the universe and will never change for man. When we go to pray, or talk to God or align ourselves with one religion or the other, we are seeking a strengthening of our human connection through God. I do not wish to get into discussion here on what God is or isn’t or if he exists. That is not the point of this blog. This blog is explaining there is a universal energy that ties us all together, and we can draw on this energy to strengthen our own connection to each other.

We must look to the condition of our own hearts first and condemn others if we must second. I read an article this week about a Muslim lady who was attacked verbally by a man who brought her to tears. How is this man any different from the terrorists? He was terrorising a woman who was peacefully and lawfully going about her daily life in her own country.

I remember and lived through racial abuse in the past in Britain. We have moved past that time and we should all be proud of that. We should all pat ourselves on the back for our own tolerance and sense of humanity. Britain has come such a long way. I have not walked down any British street for decades and been racially abused. To all of my country men and women who have worked hard so that I can have done that, I would like to say a personal and special thank you.

Taking care of freedom

Let’s all take care. Let’s all take care of each other and keep this the country we all wish to live in. Let’s keep our sense of humanity for that is part of what the terrorists hate about us; our wish for tolerance of each other because they have none. Freedom is an important part of a healthy human being. Being free to think and act in a loving and kind manner and to add positivity to life and the lives of others.

Let us make sure we keep our humanity and do whatever we need to do to stop this madness from taking a moment more of our precious lives. Life should be about love and laughter not killing and hate.  To keep the love in our own hearts healthy use meditation or just contemplation and bring in good energy into the heart.

Peace and Love Lynette.

In our next blog we are going to share a life changing meditation with you.

Energy

Some of our readers have told us that they do not understand the connection we are making in some of our blogs regarding energy. So we have decided to write a series on energy specifically to address this oversight.

In “Nourish the Flame Within”, our first book, we explain energy and how we are defining energy. Both David Brown and I understand that not all of our readers will have read our book. As a bit of transparent self-promotion, we would encourage you to buy a copy of Nourish the Flame Within, which will give you a strong picture of how energy relates to our work.

Both David’s thoughts and my own as well as those of science itself are continually developing and so we invite you to please read our up and coming blogs on the subject to fill you in.

As you may or may not be aware, I am not a scientist. I am an artist, a holistic therapist and a spirit medium. So my way of explaining this is not entirely scientific. It’s more general. So I am going to give you a sort of over view from my point of view.

David is going to write some more detailed and scientific- based blogs to fill you in on the whole subject and I am going to write from a more holistic/spiritual angle.

Before we start I will have to tell you that I can understand the confusion as this is a subject that stirs the emotions in many people and some people just don’t get it at all. I teach this subject from many angles. I teach people who wish to be spirit mediums and also holistic healers. Some come because they are confused or curious also. So I have to get this information across to them quite quickly so that they can go forward with their development and understanding.

I have developed my own way of doing that. A student of mine who is a trained engineer said to me recently that the most important lesson that I teach is the very first. In that lesson I say these words “Everything is energy “, to my students. That is indeed how I start. It is a very important fact to grasp. It is the first point to grasp. I have never had a lesson given to me that opens in that way.

So number 1: Everything is energy.

David Brown said to me that everything is not made of energy it is energy. This is what science tells us about the world and universe in which we live. We too are energy as we are part of everything. The reason that this is important is because everything is the same basic ingredient. Everything is just variations of it. When you are an energy healer this is a very useful piece of information. So too if you are an aspiring medium, it opens your understanding of the world.

Most people including myself in the past view the world as a solid experience. That is one of life’s illusions. Nothing is solid at all. The totality of the universe is energy too. It is everything, as far as we know. Although I suspect, as many scientists do too, there is more beyond our universe. There may even be many universes, and if there are, they too are energy. Yours thoughts are energy, what you say is energy, your body is energy, your actions are energy. Your home is energy. Your relationships are energy interactions. The kitchen sink is energy, so is what you eat, drink and sleep on. It is all energy.

Number 2: Energy interacts with energy.

The next important point to grasp is that energy interacts with energy. David will give you a lovely scientific explanation on this point. Every point in the universe interacts with every other point. That includes you. You are interacting with various aspects of the universe. You take vitamins from the sun and the sun is part of the universe. You take food and sustenance from the earth and you live on the earth and that too is part of the universe. You interact with other people and they too are part of the universe. This describes a very basic level of interaction that we have and everyone would indeed agree with me here. However there is a deeper and more profound level of interaction that we all have with the universe.

The Earth is part of the universe and is in no way separate from it. Because we are part of the universe albeit a small part of it, we have influence upon it as we interact with it. We are currently destroying our home the Earth. We are very efficient at that and if we complete that task something in the universe will change. Our influence upon the universe will be no more. We have influence on the earth. We too are living energy.

Science tells us that we are not the only universe and that there is a great possibility that there are others. Esoteric people have throughout time said that they communicate with another place. This other place is energy too (I would think). These parallel universes interact with our own universe, it would be reasonable to suppose. Once again we have energy interacting with energy.

Let’s step back from that possibility and stay on the earth for now. Human beings are energy and we know that science tells us so. Human beings interact with all life on the earth. They interact with plant, mineral and animal alike. We are dependent on each other and the rest of life on earth to maintain the living experience on the earth. There is an energy exchange happening. Human beings contribute to that energy exchange in many ways as we have already discussed. Our energy exchange is not the best at the present as it is sending other life out of balance. Our relationships with each other are an energy exchange. Even things we do with each other or to each other are an energy exchange, good or bad. Everything is energy.

Number 3: All energy changes.

You change and the earth changes and so too the universe as a totality changes also. We add to that change of the universe. We are having both an interaction with the universe and an exchange of energy. Our thoughts go out into the universe as our energy. Now what is a thought worth?

494779951

Well think of something loving, and then think of something nasty. There is your answer: Positive and negative. Both will have an influence on you. The positive will be light and uplifting and the negative will be heavy and draining. Your thoughts are an energy interaction both with yourself and the wider world. Your thoughts have impact on your body and emotions. Your emotions will have an influence on the emotions of others as do your thoughts.

Number 4: Energy Vibrations are all around us.

Sound has been used as a powerful and effective tool for helping to improve health and well- being for thousands of years.

Sound has been used as a powerful and effective tool for helping to improve health and well- being for thousands of years.

Thoughts are vibrations, as is speech, light and colour. Colour is an aspect of light. We see light as colour and are affected by it, emotionally, physically and mentally. Sound affects us too. It affects us on a vibrational level both emotionally and physically. Every atom in our body is vibrating and each of us both individually and collectively is sending out a vibration. On an individual level we send out a personal vibration that belongs to us, it is “us”. There is a base to that vibration that solely belongs to the individual. However that base is ever changing and being influenced by everything that the person thinks does and says.

We are vibrating and so therefore are a vibration ourselves.

Number 5: There are many layers of energy.

There are many layers of energy within the universe, the earth and us. The interactions that we have with these layers of energy are not always apparent to our conscious thought. A great deal happens on a moment to moment basis that we are not consciously aware of. We cannot take account of every piece of information that comes in our direction and process it consciously as we would never go forward and get through our day. Most of the information that is available to us for our living experience is in the background of our life. We do not need to analyse it or think about it to live and go forward, so we don’t. There are processes within us and outside of us that we are interacting with and which interact with us. We do not either consciously know it or need to know it. However they are there and are therefore part of us, our life and living experience.

I teach people how to feel the energy around them on a conscious level. I teach them to feel the many layers of energy that exists around them. Until we look in the direction of these energy layers we don’t necessarily notice there existence. They are in the back ground of life.

There is earth energy, celestial energy and other energy layers that will tap into us whether we wish for it or not. Some of these energy layers are balancing to us and some are draining to us.

Our world137876360 (1)

There is so much in our world that we do not look closely at or question a little more deeply. These five points build the tapestry that is the complex and wonderful experience of life and the universe. To understand them is to develop a deeper appreciation of the workings of nature and the universe and our place in it, as well as our effect on nature and the myriad ways in which nature influences us. Often we dismiss much as irrelevant to our lives and well-being. Sometimes it is those things that are affecting us positively or negatively that we dismiss as irrelevant. How can they be so?

If we look a little more closely at that which is around us and which may seem ordinary, we may find the extraordinary!

Life is a two way street

Life is a two way street

Life is a two way street

Life is interactive.

It is a two way street.

If you wake up in the morning in a bad mood, all you see in your day is the stuff that angers and irritates you- the good stuff does not touch you.

If you wake up in a good mood, you see only joy and the bad stuff runs off you like water off a ducks back.

It is not that you are creating Reality- Reality is Reality. It is that you are creating YOUR reality.

You buy a new car and suddenly you see the make and model everywhere. You didn’t notice it before. Now you do because you are aware, because you made a conscious choice.

The signals from the world, from the Universe, are always the same. There has always been this number of Range Rovers around- the question is ‘Why did you not notice?’

If the signal from the world, from the Universe, is always the same, why do you notice some things and ignore others?

It is all there to be felt, seen, heard and touched, why are you missing the bits you are missing?

I believe it is about conscious choice and intention.

Before I get into that, I want to explain an idea that may make it clearer to understand.

An Ocean of Waves

Science tells us that every atom in the universe has a vibration. As it vibrates it sends out endless waves into the space. So in truth, the Universe is a massive ocean of waves.

When we picture this idea we assume for the most part that it is the atoms creating the waves- I think this is true, but only PART of the story. Because waves also create the atoms. Reality is interactive, a two way street.

The environment around you plays as much a part in creating you as you do in creating the environment. You create a living space at home that is calm and relaxing. That calm and relaxing space in turn calms
and relaxes you.

Your enthusiasm for a subject makes others enthusiastic which loops back to you and feeds your passion.

The more I look at life, the more I see this two way street. Nothing is in isolation, everything is connected.

Science tells us this connection is generated by waves. Waves interact- if the waves are in sync you feel a harmonious connection. When out of sync you feel discord and disharmony. You are always connected. You are always interacting.

Free Choice

As conscious beings we have free choice. We have the freedom to choose our thoughts and intentions. In short, we are able to influence the waves we generate and send out into the world.

When your waves interact with the waves of the world around you, you feel harmony or discord depending on your environment.

So, when you give out the waves of a bad mood, you inadvertently draw your attention to things that are harmonious to this bad mood. Good mood vibrations irritate you because they are not harmonious with your bad mood vibration. Your bad mood deepens!

To change this cyclic state of affairs requires conscious choice from you- actively choose a good mood.

Discover the things that bring you joy and create a relationship and connection to them that you can access whenever you need to. Build and cultivate the connections in your mind, body and spirit that will make it easier over time to feel joy over fear and contentment over discord. Experiment with it.

It requires consistent effort because the nature of the universe is fluid- it’s shape and form will change very fast in any direction as long as the intention is strong and consistent enough to influence the waves within and around you.

Gandhi said ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’. I believe what he meant by that in the context of waves, vibration and science is that by giving off the vibration of joy, peace and love your waves will interact with people’s vibrations of joy, peace and love, amplify them and bring that into consciousness. In turn they will feed it back to you in an ever growing loop.

Yes, choose your environment and the people you interact with carefully- they influence your being and your vibration. Also, manage your vibration, your intention, your conscious thoughts and notice the impact it has on your environment and the people in your life. You can choose to create a better life and a better world. The science points us to this truth that sages, masters and teachers have told us across space and time- that life is an interactive experience, a two way street.

Over to you

What are your thoughts and experiences of life as a two way street? We’d love to hear about your experiences and work together in creating a supportive environment for learning and enquiry about science and spirituality. Please post your comments below.

Creating Space

The air was thick with water and I was covered with a fine film of condensation. The scene was almost ghostly or other worldly.

The air was thick with water and I was covered with a fine film of condensation. The scene was almost ghostly or other worldly.

In Wales on one of my many walks in Nature, I discovered a beautiful waterfall, with the most astounding tree growing on the edge of the pool that was at the base of the falls.  All the branches of the tree were growing away from the falls creating an imbalanced shape which was striking.  What was clear to me was that the spray from the falls had created a great force on the tree and the branches had only developed on one side of the trunk. The tree responded to the force by leaning away from the falls.  I marveled at the power the force of the flowing water, gravity and the spray can have.

It also struck me how a living thing can change how it grows in accordance with its environment and conditions.

These forces are simply waves.  The water flows over the falls creating wind and spray as it falls and hits the water pool at the bottom.  These waves have direction and speed that influence the environment around it.  The waves of energy carry the water droplets far through the air creating a dampness that supports prolific moss growth that hangs off every branch and rock in the area.  The air was thick with water and I was covered with a fine film of condensation.  The scene was almost ghostly or other worldly.

Waves require space to move.  In previous blogs we have discussed how waves interact and in that interaction create patterns.  These patterns in turn create form.  I think the walk I described above is a stunning example of interaction of waves creating beauty and can be used as a metaphor for our lives.

We must have space. There must be room for exploration so that we can grow.  If our lives are full with every moment accounted for in a rigid and organised way there is no room for spontaneity or new experience.  Some people like the comfort of this, but for others it is stifling.  In truth, there can only be growth if there is space.  Like our tree, the branches of our lives only grow where there is space to fill.

With space comes interaction and with interaction comes the creation of all.  If I interact with people I can create something magic with them.  Sometimes interactions with others are painful.  All experience has its purpose and it is all learning.

Scientists tell us the universe is continuously expanding.  This means there is ever more space being created. It has to be filled with something.  Space is our opportunity for new experience, growth and learning.  It can deepen our understanding of our self, others and life itself.  Had I not created the space in my life to go for that walk, I would never have stumbled upon that tree and I would not be able to share the experience and thoughts that I had with you. You have kindly created the space to read this.  Thank you. I hope you have found it thought provoking.  I invite you to share your experiences of creating space in your life for something and the learning that has come from that in the comments below.  Life is about the magic moments however small those moments are.  It is the depth of knowledge and understanding about life that they give you that counts.

Beam me up to Inspiration

You may never fully know the implications of your actions.

You may never fully know the implications of your actions.

As the world mourns the death of Leonard Nemoy, I am reminded of the legacy he, and the cast and creators of Star Trek have left the world.

The following wonderful examples of how Star Trek has changed the world can be found on Wikipedia:

  • Marc D. Rayman, the chief propulsion engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory became interested in propulsion through Star Trek. The Ion Propulsion on one of NASA’s deep space probes was inspired by a Star Trek episode. Star Trek inspired the name of the first Space Shuttle, “Enterprise”.
  • Martin Cooper, inventor of the mobile phone and the chief engineer at Motorolo, states that Star Trek was the inspiration for his intention.
  • Mae C. Jemison was inspired by Star Trek to become the first African American in space, while Seth Shostak was led to astronomy through Star Trek’s influence.  He now works for SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence).
  • Star Trek popularized the notion of the user- friendly personal computer.  Trek fan Ed Roberts invented the first home computer, the Altair 8800, named after the solar system Altair (Altair 6) in the Star Trek episode “Amok Time”. This led to Bill Gates writing the computer programming language BASIC for the Altair and the birth of Microsoft.
  • Kevin Warwick from the University of Reading was inspired by the Borg (beings with a collective consciousness and intelligence) to create cyborg implants, linking his own nervous system to the internet.
  • Even the spin off series had impact. Steve Perlman, at the time principal scientist at Apple Computers, was inspired to invent QuickTime  media player by watching an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Science fiction is often talked about for inspiring future inventions. In fact, it is the creator that stimulates the inventor. Our books, Nourish the Flame Within and Feel the Power, are about energy and its flow and potency. Here is a classic example. The imagination of one writer spawns the germ of an idea in someone else, with the energy of ideas propagating across time.

This is the nature of creativity. Given that the universe is a process of creation building upon itself, we see this time and again, from larger elements like iron and gold created in stars that go to create planets, to the development from theatre to silent movies, talkies, cartoons and computer animation. Each development builds on the steps before it.

Leonard Nemoy was part of an inspirational movement that led to changes in life paths that may never have happened had it not been for Gene Roddenberry’s creation. It is incredible to think that something so simple could change the energy flow of so many people’s lives. Amazing to consider the immense mental energy that powered these shifts in direction and how our lives have been enriched in myriad ways; perhaps too many to fully appreciate.

Let us remember Leonard Nemoy, the inspirational Star trek series that he was a part of and others like him who have inspired and will continue to inspire generations long after their deaths.

Beyond Religion

Compassion is beyond religion- it goes to the root of our humanity & nature.

Compassion is beyond religion- it goes to the root of our humanity & nature.

Gandhi said that he was a Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jew and Buddhist.  It implies a devout connection to principles that encompass all world religions, without a commitment to any particular religion.  No one can say that Gandhi did not embrace principles of respect, love and compassion in the actions in his life.  He believed in these principles.  He used them as the guiding principles in all his actions, not least during his non- violent protest of British presence in India and its subsequent independence.  He inspired Martin Luther King in his quest for equality for all peoples across the world in a non- violent form.

These men lived for their causes.  Their respect, love and compassion can never be destroyed.  That lives on for respect, love and compassion are founding principles of the universe.

Karen Armstrong, a former nun and founder of the Charter of Compassion, has researched the world’s religions extensively and she has distilled the common thread that links them all: compassion (see her TED talk: My Wish: The Charter for Compassion).  She uses this principle as the founding concept of her charter that encourages individuals, communities and nations to use compassion in their daily lives to improve the world (www.charterforcompassion.org).

Compassion comes from connection- to the universe, to the planet, to the animals and to our fellow human beings and humanity at large.  With that connection we understand that we are all one, from the same source.  If we respect other people we respect our self and if we hurt another we hurt our self.  That has been the message of great leaders such as Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, Gandhi and Martin Luther King throughout human history.

Humanity separates one from the other on many issues and factors. Humanity will separate on the grounds of colour of skin, race, religion, politics and location to name a few. These things are not important, but humanity makes them so. We are all bound through a golden thread, and that thread is our humanity itself. We are all one family of human existence.

Living one’s life with compassion is a choice and each individual has free will to do so. Intellectually understanding the concept of compassion is good but truly making compassion part of our own living experience on every level is even better.

I do not subscribe to any religion in particular. I do not feel I need to do so. I know that I am a product of the universe in which I live and which created me. I know that through that I have a connection to the universe and that it is possible to consciously strengthen my connection to it.  I can do it through prayer, meditation and attunement. These all enhance spiritual connection.  All of these methods will strengthen my connection to the universe and deepen my feeling of connection to and compassion for all that exists. A Charter of Compassion maybe a good step forward.

There is nothing wrong with subscribing to a set of principles dictated by a particular religion; however we can live our lives as a good a decent person even if we do not. That is what I try to do. I try to be a good person rather than subscribing to principles laid down by any religion.  There is an argument that religion is the basis of our moral behaviour, but I believe there is a moral code built into us by nature itself.  This can be seen in animals’ behaviour and many instances of compassion that they too have been seen to display.

We can respect everyone as that is a choice and decision we make. Love and compassion grow out of respect. Respect first, love and compassion follow. No one needs to love anyone. We all need to behave with respect and kindness. That is what makes the world safe. Love is a very personal emotion. Love for another person will grow out of their actions to us. Love cannot be conjured up out of thin air. We earn love by our own kind and respectful actions to others. We can respect each other as fellow human beings. We can show compassion and kindness by choice.

We cannot love all human beings all of the time. However we can respect them and behave with compassion regardless of how we feel about them. We can offer them water when they are thirsty and food when they are hungry, and clean clothes or some finance if they need that.  There merely needs to be respect for their humanity to do that.

We all have a place in life and have to live together and find peace and harmony amongst ourselves for this existence to work for the whole. How best can we do that? To respect my fellow man means that I do not harm him. I allow him the freedom to live his life in peace and hope that he has the grace to do the same for me.

In recent weeks we have witnessed the Charlie Hebdo shootings in Paris, France.  We have to learn that we cannot kill each other just because we do not agree with each other.  If we do not agree with each other we can at least respect the other person’s right to life and their point of view, even when we think they are very wrong.

A person must have a desire to respect others.  Without that there can be no love and compassion. Respect comes from understanding the necessity and validity of behaving and living in harmony with those principles. There must be a benefit for them. The benefit is harmony and personal safety.

Compassion, respect and a deeper understanding of our place in the universe as well as our role in the universe are the foundation of these actions.

The message of love and compassion is preached by religion, but religion is not its source.  Compassion can be seen in nature.  There is no religion in nature, save the religion of living in harmony with the natural forces of the natural world.  I subscribe to that principle, to live in harmony with the natural forces of the earth and the universe.

God is the natural forces of the earth and the universe.  World religions are divided on God’s true nature and it is not my purpose to enter into a debate about that here.  My idea of God embraces all the world’s religions’ visions of God.  I may not agree with the details, but I respect the views each religion has on God.

There is a natural order to life of which we are a part. All religions have a purpose and that purpose is to light the way to God, higher spiritual connection and those higher forces of the universe. Their purpose is also to give us an understanding of what life is and our purpose within this life. This can be achieved without the aid of religion just as easily, if a person has the mind to do so.

Understanding ones place in the order of life and your personal spiritual path helps to kindle respect and compassion for everyone regardless of religion and other people’s beliefs. It is important for us all to live in tranquillity both with our self and fellow man.

We have a connection to God and the universal forces. God is the universe. Our connection to each other stems from that source of power. The universe created us and we are part of it. We are always part of that source however we can become emotionally disconnected from it. We can also be unaware of its true power and influence on us. We can draw on this great power of the universe for strength, guidance, spiritual and emotional sustenance. We can use it to show us the true nature of respect, love and compassion.

Through desire anyone can consciously enhance their connection to all of the universal forces which will in turn show the way to a life of respect, love and compassion.

Christmas Reflection

A gift is a token of our mutual connection

A gift is a token of our mutual connection

What a beautiful time of year this is, the festivities are almost over and now we have time for reflection. Christmas is a time for reflection on Christ’s message which is one of peace and to have a giving nature, and the Jewish festival of Chanukah is the festival of light and a celebration of god’s power and grace.

In the darkness and cold of winter, light and peace bring warmth and brightness to our hearts.

This time of year holds a serious message for us all and I think these festivals represent the core of the human condition and the giving nature of the Universe.

The candles and lights remind us of the human spirit, and that the human spirit has its own light. The Universal source is the source of that light, it nourishes that flame within.

The giving of presents and the acts of sharing and reflection remind us that it is important to have gratitude within us. Nothing in life is our right; we must carve life out for ourselves. Life gives us what we need as long as we engage in life appropriately.  We seek out gifts to thank people for being part of our lives and for sharing with us.

Life is an exchange of human interaction and what greater gift is there than the meaningful exchange of time, energy and experience to enhance the lives of all concerned?

The use of light when celebrating festivals the world over is a testament to the power of love and compassion that resides in the human heart and at the core of the Universal Spirit.  It is celebrated the world over, and for a short period it is in the fore front of our minds.  It can only be a good thing to have light and peace and giving in the fore front of our minds each year to reacquaint us all with those concepts.

Our lives are full of modern wants and needs.  However, perhaps we should ask ourselves is this the point of life, or is there a more fundamental and real point to existence? The Christmas message is one of gratitude, knowledge, understanding, hope, joy and peace to all. Christ came to light the way for us all and so that we would know what the light is and we would carry that light in our hearts always.

It is always pleasant to receive a gift from a treasured family member or friend. The gift is just a token of something more. It is a token of their connection to us and us to them. The human story is one of connection and that we are all bound together in our humanity. We should be truly grateful for those that bind us close to them. We should always remember to show gratitude for the love that is given to us by others. Our life would be the less without it. In the Chanukah story, god showed devotion to humanity by keeping the ever- lasting light alight even though there was not enough oil to keep it burning.  The wise men traveled far to honour the Christ child and in that act they showed us humility for Christ’s message, the Christmas message, the message of the light.

David Brown and Lynette Avis

Christmas Spirit

Intuitively we understand that light is good. When we unite under the banner of light we are stronger.

Intuitively we understand that light is good. When we unite under the banner of light we are stronger.

What is the Christmas Spirit? Though Christmas is a Christian holiday, I believe there is a universal message that all people, Christian and non- Christian alike, can learn.  If we can get beyond the attachment of “my” religion, there are many beautiful messages to be shared throughout the religions, cultures and traditions of the world.  In fact, the Christmas message is so universal, that it appears time and again in religions and even in popular culture.

So what is this message?  Throughout history, humans have struggled with the balance of good and evil: corruption versus compassion; greed in conflict with generosity; arrogance and humility; love and apathy; hatred and tranquillity and; self- doubt compared to empowerment.  So often, we chose the dark side of our character even though it brings pain to us and our loved ones.  The message of Christmas is to choose the light, not just the light side of our character, but the light side of the universe, the forces that compel us to do good, to be the best of ourselves and to live beyond our petty fears and concerns and move into a greater future.

My understanding of the Christmas message is that Jesus was sent to show humanity the way towards the Light of God.  It is the story of the battle between light and darkness, good and evil that has been told the world over and across time.  Many cultures have stories in their traditions that represent this archetypal struggle:  The Jews have the story of Hanukkah (The Festival of Light);  The Hindus celebrate Diwali (the festival of lights) which spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair; Charles Dickens writes about it in A Christmas Carol with the lessons to Scrooge from the ghosts of Christmas’ past, present and future; George Lucas deals with it in the story of the Jedi and the Sith in the Star Wars Series and; JK Rowling discusses it in the Harry Potter books with the wizards of light fighting the dark wizard Voldemorte and his Death- Eaters.

The context of Jesus’ story is set in Roman Palestine and Jesus tried to preach a better path away from the corruption of the Jewish priests and the Roman politicians.  The story of Hanukkah, set centuries before highlighted the suppression by the Greeks of the Jewish way of life and yet somehow, despite the Greeks’ best efforts, that way of life could not be quashed.  In both stories, a greater force was sent to change the status quo, to show people that there is a force greater than them nurturing the Path of Truth, the Universal message.  The acts are often depicted as miracles: the star that led the three Kings to the baby Jesus and; the one day’s worth of oil to burn the ever- lasting light (that represents God’s presence) in the Jewish Temple that lasted for eight days.  May be they are in fact universal forces that show us we live in a supporting universe of love?

This spiritual message is important.  I think it is significant that it is often represented by light and the use of candles (Christmas and Hanukkah) and Fireworks (Diwali).  Intuitively we understand that light is good.  We must make a stand against the darkness and that when we unite under the banner of light we are stronger.  That light is an internal force, a flame burning within that is the human spirit.  It is also an external force, from beyond our self, from the universe itself, nurturing and nourishing our inner flame.  The religious festivals and cultural stories remind us of this wonderful universal spirit of giving and sharing that we all enjoy.  A plethora of Christmas movies that celebrate the Christmas spirit often make us feel warm and empowered to do our best good.  To embrace the light and its significance is a message to be held as a way of life.  The light never to be forgotten, forever nurtured.
